Somewhere between the fifteenth open tab and the third iced coffee, it hit me. Maybe we don’t hate meetings. We just hate the ones where nobody has anything to say.

Welcome back to another mandatory meeting. This one’s got range: Kotlin just turned 15, IntelliJ IDEA Conf dropped a lineup worth clearing your calendar for, and pandas got the glow-up nobody asked for, but everyone actually needed.

Mastering pandas (the library, not the animal)

If you’ve ever opened a CSV and hoped a merge would just work, you’ve already used pandas. Our new course, built straight from the official docs and wired into your IDE, skips the six-hour video lecture and gets you writing real code with real-time feedback instead. You’ll finish with two portfolio-ready projects: a TED Talks recommender and an LLM compute cost analysis.

Learning Python in the Age of AI

We sat down with Sheena O’Connell, a Director of the Python Software Foundation, to talk about tutorials vs. AI chatbots, why fundamentals still matter, teaching Python in schools, and why getting your hands dirty on real projects still beats prompting your way through. It’s genuinely worth the watch, especially if you’ve been leaning on a chatbot more than you’d like to admit. (No judgment, we’ve all been there).

And that was the whole agenda for today’s meeting. Pick whatever catches your eye, and we’ll be back with more next month.
